Es grünt und blüht nicht nur in der Natur: Auch in die Töpfe von Küchenchef Sauli Kemppainen sind die ersten Sonnenstrahlen eingekehrt und mit ihnen die feinsten Aromen der Saison ... wie immer aufregend kombiniert von einem der besten Köche der Stadt. Willkommen in der QUADRIGA!
Beelitzer Spargel, Rhabarber, zarte Erbsen und Möhrchen ... Sauli Kemppainen ist für Sie durch Felder und Gärten gestreift und präsentiert seine Ernte nun mit jungem Poltinger Lamm und dem ersten Milchkalb des Jahres, mal sanft, mal ironisch verfeinert mit erdigen Trüffeln, dem Duft frischer Tannentriebe, Vanille und Safran. Das ist Kemppainen, wie man ihn kennt und liebt: weltoffen, kreativ und mit dem unbedingten Wunsch, seine Gäste stets neu zu überraschen – was ihm selbst dann gelingt, wenn er Klassiker serviert. Denn natürlich finden Sie auf der Karte auch seinen Vorschmack wieder, jene traditionelle Komposition aus zartem Lamm und frischem Hering, die der Finne so gekonnt modern interpretiert.
Unser Weintipp zu Genüssen wie diesen kommt wie so oft vom Kaiserstuhl. Christoph Geyler aus dem Team von Maître Vedad Hadziabdic hat das beliebte Weingut Bercher in Burkheim besucht und unter der badischen Sonne eine kostbare Rarität für Sie entdeckt: Der Chardonnay aus dem Jahr 2000 besticht mit fein eingebundener Barriquenote, den Aromen sonnengereifter Zitrusfrüchte, Birnen- und Nelkenduft. Nur noch wenige Flaschen sind zu haben, doch es lohnt sich, genau wie die Spätburgunder der Lage Feuerberg.

Vom 6. bis 10. Oktober 2010 freut sich unsere Stadt wieder auf die internationale Kunstmesse art forum berlin – und nachdem die Schau unter ihrer neuen Führung schon 2009 ein voller Erfolg war, erwartet Sie nun ein weiteres Highlight im kulturellen Leben der deutschen Kunstmetropole Nummer eins.

Die Staatsoper zieht ein
Noch hat es sich kaum herumgesprochen, doch mit der Spielzeit 2010/2011 wird die Staatsoper Unter den Linden ihr Übergangsdomizil im Charlottenburger Schillertheater beziehen – und damit ganz in die Nähe unseres Hauses rücken. Grund genug für ein exklusives Opernpackage, meinen wir (natürlich gern auch für Deutsche Oper und Philharmonie).
Drei Jahre soll die umfangreiche Sanierung der Staatsoper in Anspruch nehmen und für diese Zeit wird das traditionsreiche Schillertheater an der Bismarckstraße Spielstätte des ältesten Opernhauses der Stadt. Spektakulär ist das Programm, das hier in der ersten Saison unter Jürgen Flimm auf die Bühne kommt: Nicht weniger als eine Uraufführung und sechzehn Musiktheater-Premieren füllen den Spielplan. Werke aus dem Repertoire, Ballett und Konzerte nicht mitgezählt. In Charlottenburg freuen wir uns auf den Wettstreit der beiden großen Opernbühnen der Stadt, denn keinen Steinwurf vom Schillertheater entfernt hat die Deutsche Oper ihren Sitz. Summer in Kemppainen's Kitchen
Whilst nature is abundant with blooms and shoots, the sparkling rays reign supreme in larder, pots and pans of head chef Sauli Kemppainen. The finest aromas are combined in unique and fascinating way by one of the city's most accomplished chefs. Welcome to the QUADRIGA!
Asparagus from Beelitz, rhubarb, succulent peas and baby carrots, Sauli Kemppainen has scoured fields and gardens to bring you his harvest with young Poltinger lamb and the first milk fed veal of the year. At times subtly and sometimes with just a touch of irony, his creations become utterly exquisite with earthy truffles, the smell of fresh fir tree sprouts, vanilla and saffron.
This is Kemppainen as we know and love him: cosmopolitan, creative and with an uncompromising desire to surprise – even when presenting a classic dish. His menu is witness to culinary roots in his native Finland and his sublime modern interpretations secure him a sought after place amongst top chefs in Germany.
Our wine recommendation for these culinary delights comes – as often the case – from the Kaiserstuhl. Our Maître Vedad Hadziabdic has sent his colleague Christoph Geyler to visit the famous Bercher vineyard in Burkheim, to discover an exquisite rarity grown under the Baden sun: the Chardonnay vintage 2000 impresses with a finely balanced barrique note and the aroma of sun-ripened citrus fruits, pears and cloves. There are only a few bottles left but it is well worth it, just like the Pinot Noir from the Feuerberg estate.

Compared with other European metropolis, Berlin is absolutely surrounded by golf courses - it is a true Mecca for the lovers of the king of sports and those who would like to join. In cooperation with the Gatow Golf Club, we are therefore delighted to offer you the opportunity to play at one of the finest clubs in Berlin.
As part of our ‘Berlin Golf Experience’, we can organise for you to pursue your passion at most courses in and around Berlin, however - we recommend the former British Gatow Golf Club in particular. Its idyllic location, ancient trees and mature greens, not foregoing the club’s fine English traditions, reverberates the ambience and service you would expect from us. 18 courses are available for you. Manor house Klessen Garden Day
Welcome and enter! On 6 June from 11am at Manor house Klessen, Havelland. The splendid stately home opens its gates for the 2010 Open Garden Day to show the abundant early summer bloom, a combination of Prussian and English life styles, and a variety of delights – culinary and cultural.
This blissful summer day in Brandenburg county offers highlights galore - which will be yours ? The winners of the Kira Auguste Princess from Prussia Music and Culture foundation, the cellist Arseniy Chubachin, will perform melodies by Rachmaninov, Estrelite Ponce, Kreisler und John Williams exclusively for you. Meanwhile and throughout the day, Chef Sauli Kemppainen serves small delicacies - whereas the evening is reserved for a delicious asparagus menu to be enjoyed under the old lime trees in the park.

The art forum in Berlin
From 6 to 10 October, Berlin will be proud to again host the international art fair. Following the show's huge success in 2009, expect yet another highlight in the cultural calendar of Germany's foremost art metropolis.
As a partner hotel of the art forum berlin, it will be a great privilege to welcome you as VIPs to this spectacular event. 100 galleries from the world's most important cultural centres have already confirmed attendance and 40,000 guests are expected. International artists, collectors and museum directors are invited. State Opera on the move
It is not quite common knowledge yet, but yes! the State Opera 'Unter den Linden’ is taking up temporary residence at the Schiller Theatre in Charlottenburg - virtually next door to us. Here the 2010/2011 programme will be performed and we think this is ample reason for an exclusive opera arrangement (which applies to the Deutsche Opera and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra as well).
The fundamental renovation of the State Opera is scheduled to take three years, meanwhile the iconic Schiller Theatre in the Bismarck Strasse is the venue for Berlin’s long-established opera house. This first season’s spectacular programme will be conducted by Jürgen Flimm - no less than one world premiere and 16 music theatre premieres are part of the programme, not counting ballets and concerts. Meanwhile we are looking forward to a thriving rivalry between the city's two largest opera stages – after all the Schiller Theatre is just a stone’s throw from the Deutsche Opera, which is world famous in its own right and has given Charlottenburg more than a touch of class and cultural status.
