New Nordic ist Trend
"Makrele statt Moleküle" betitelt eine große deutsche Zeitung die jüngste Sensation der internationalen Gourmetszene: Ein skandinavisches Res-taurant hat erstmals die Vorherrschaft der spanischen Küche gebrochen und Platz eins der Bestenliste erobert. Ganz im Sinne von Meisterkoch Sauli Kemppainen.
Die Freude ist groß beim Küchenchef der QUADRIGA, schließlich ist unser finnischer Meister selbst passionierter Vertreter der New Nordic Cuisine. Für seine sehr eigenständigen Kreationen, die ganz bewusst einen Gegenpol zur mediterranen Kochkunst setzen, hat er nicht nur bereits einen Stern bekommen, sondern auch die Herzen der Feinschmecker in und um Berlin im Sturm gewonnen. Und gerade diesen Trend wird er mit seiner Herbstkarte ganz bestimmt fortsetzen, denn hier sind wieder die feinsten und überraschendsten Aromen aus dem Hohen Norden versammelt.

Jagd in Wörlitz
Tradition zu Pferd: Einmal im Jahr heißt es im Gartenreich Wörlitz die Fuchsjagd zu pflegen. Und wo auf dem Festland könnte das bunte Treiben nach englischem Vorbild schöner sein als in der herrlichen Szenerie der anhaltinischen Elbauen? Willkommen. You're welcome.
Am Samstag, dem 16. Oktober 2010, sind wir auch dieses Jahr wieder eingeladen zur Traditionsjagd in Wörlitz. Kraftvolle Pferde, stolze Reiter, Hunde, Hörner und die wohl schönste Jagdstrecke auf dem Kontinent erwarten uns, die wir das spektakuläre, aber unblutige Geschehen aus gemessenem Abstand verfolgen. In Kutschen begleiten wir die Jagdgesellschaft durch die prachtvolle Natur, freuen uns an ihrer Schönheit und genießen Sauli Kemppainens reich gefüllten Picknickkorb und ein herzhaftes Mittagsmahl.
Später empfängt uns das Gotische Haus, Refugium des Fürsten zu seiner Zeit, wo

Die Wiener Philharmoniker
Eine kleine Sensation und sicher das Gastspiel-Highlight für viele Jahre erwartet Berlin vom 1. bis 5. Dezember 2010: Die Wiener Philharmoniker beehren die Philharmonie. Auf dem Programm: alle neun Beethoven-Symphonien – ein einmaliges Event außerhalb Wiens.
Wohl kaum ein Orchester ist enger mit der europäischen Musikgeschichte verbunden als die Philharmoniker aus der österreichischen Metropole. Weltweit einmalig gastieren sie nun außerhalb ihrer Heimatstadt mit dem kompletten symphonischen Werk des großen Ludwig van Beethoven hier in Berlin. Dirigiert von Christian Thielemann.
Die Konzertreihe beginnt am Mittwoch, dem 1. Dezember 2010, mit den Symphonien Nr. 4 und 5. Donnerstag und Samstag folgen Nr. 6 und 7, dann Nr. 1, 2 und 3, bis schließlich am ersten Advent Nr. 8 und natürlich Beethovens Neunte – u. a. mit Solistin Annette Dasch und dem Rundfunkchor Berlin – den unbestrittenen Höhepunkt bilden.
Um dieses tatsächlich einzigartige Ereignis haben wir für Sie eine Reihe fantastischer Arrangements geschaffen. For a chef, autumn probably marks the beginning of the best time of year, as the leaves slowly turn golden and nature begins to bear fruit. The days may become shorter but the aromas gain in intensity. Sauli Kemppainen also likes to be creative with autumn's gifts and has ordered hand-selected Arctic raspberries for DIE QUADRIGA. This delicacy from his home country with its New Nordic Cuisine has made as much a name for itself as Europe's leading chef himself. However, there's more to enjoy about autumn than its culinary harvest - the season also has many cultural pleasures to offer. New Nordic is bang on trend
"Mackerel not molecules". This is how a leading German newspaper described the latest sensation on the international gourmet scene. For the first time a Scandinavian restaurant has broken the dominance of Spanish cuisine to become the best restaurant in the world. Exactly in the spirit of Master Chef Sauli Kemppainen.
The chef at DIE QUADRIGA is very pleased with this news - after all our Finnish Master Chef is himself a passionate advocate of New Nordic Cuisine. Not only has he already received a Michelin star for his extremely independent creations, which deliberately set a completely different tone to those of Mediterranean cuisine, he has also taken by storm the hearts of gourmets in and around Berlin. He is sure to continue this trend with his autumn menu which once again combines the finest and most surprising aromas from the Far North.
The highlight of the menu may well be "mesimarja", the rare Arctic raspberry prized by top chefs around the world - not just by those in Scandinavia. With its fresh mossy flavour and tart fruitiness it is quite different from the raspberries we know. Harvested by hand almost at the Arctic Circle, this delicious gem has now found its way to our patisserie to be made into chutneys, jams, sorbets and tarts which alone make it worth visiting DIE QUADRIGA - even if you care to forget the other culinary highlights created in what is currently Europe's most popular restaurant cuisine.

The art forum in Berlin
From 6 to 10 October, Berlin will be proud to again host the international art fair. Following the show's huge success in 2009, expect yet another highlight in the cultural calendar of Germany's foremost art metropolis.

For all those who love German wine as passionately as we do, the beginning of September brings a top event to the city. The Association of German Quality and Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP) is celebrating its 100th anniversary with two unforgettable events, and you are invited to attend as a VIP.
On Sunday 5 September 2010 the "Wine & Art - Gallery Tours" will take place. Starting in the ‘Kolonnadenhof’ in front the ‘Neue Museum’, the tours will take in the 70 most important art galleries in the city, allowing you to experience high quality works of art along with representatives from 200 of the best German wine estates who will be presenting 1000 of their best wines. Hunting in Wörlitz
Tradition on horseback. Once a year in the Garden Kingdom of Wörlitz the fox hunt takes place. And could there be a more beautiful place on the continent to experience this colourful, English-inspired tradition than in the wonderful Anhalt Elbauen region? You are welcome to join us.
On Saturday 16 October 2010 we are once again invited to the traditional hunt in Wörlitz. Powerful horses, proud riders, dogs, horns and probably the most beautiful hunting course in Europe await us as we follow this spectacular but bloodless event from a safe distance. We will accompany the hunting party in coaches through the wonderful landscape, marvel at the latter's beauty and enjoy Sauli Kemppainen's ample picnic hamper and a hearty luncheon. We will then be given a warm welcome to the Gothic House, previously an urban retreat for the prince, where you can feast your eyes on the Garden Kingdom, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in all its autumnal glory. Champagne will of course be served as an accompaniment to amusing anecdotes from the life of Leopold III. Friedrich Franz von Anhalt-Dessau!

The Vienna Philharmonic
From 01 - 05 December 2010 Berlin is playing host to what has to be the most sensational guest performance for many years: the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is honouring the Berlin Philharmonie with a series of concerts. The programme consists of all nine Beethoven symphonies - a unique event outside Vienna.
Hardly any orchestra is as closely linked to European musical history as the Philharmonic Orchestra from the Austrian metropolis. Berlin has been chosen as the venue for this one-off event: the showcasing of the complete symphonic works of the great Ludwig van Beethoven. Conducted by Christian Thielemann.
The series of concerts begins on Wednesday 01 December 2010 with Symphonies number 4 and 5. Thursday and Saturday will see performances of numbers 6 and 7 and then numbers 1, 2 and 3 before the grand finale on the first Sunday in Advent, on which performances of symphony number 8 and, of course, the Ninth - featuring soloists Annette Dasch and the Rundfunkchor Berlin - will mark the indisputable climax to the event.
We have created a series of fantastic arrangements around what really will be a unique experience. They all include an introduction to the works by Götz Teusch, the famous first cellist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra over afternoon tea, 1st or 2nd category tickets to the concert and an exclusive luncheon in the Grüne Salon of the Philharmonie.
