PURE INSPIRATION: SUMMER ACADEMY 2013

How do new things enter the world? This is the vibrant question posed at the 2nd Summer Academy in ‘Haus am Waldsee’ in Berlin. What does creativity mean? And how much innovation is actually too much?

Talk with renowned scientists from various disciplines at one of the most beautiful locations for contemporary art in Berlin. Following the great success of the previous year, Curator, Dr. Katja Blomberg of ‘Haus am Waldsee’, has put together yet another inspiring programme wíth illustrious orators from the universities in Berlin, Karlsruhe and Munich. Together we would like to invite you to gain new impressions, let your mind wander and exchange animated thoughts, in a casual environment under old trees.

Please note: conversations will be held in German language only.

For music lovers, Rolf Basten, from the Salzburg Festival, will speak on the historical influence of the alleged conservative composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Art historian Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich from University Karlsruhe will investigate the ‘cult of new things’. Prof. Dr. Andreas Reckwitz from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) will take a look at ‘the dispositif of creativity’. Søren Kierkegaard, new friendships and myths of innovation are other themes of this wonderful weekend.

Of course, we also look after your wellbeing: as a guest at our hotel, you will be treated to fine cuisine during the Summer Academy by our QUADRIGA chef.
